Uche Sparks Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Even though entering their maiden European campaign, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel MuƱoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight entry to the last 16, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This occasion offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive match.
A Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season were outmatched against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were already depleted by the news that Mateta and MuƱoz are out with knee problems.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
